What We Believe

What we believe shapes how we worship, how we live, how we serve, and how we understand our relationship with God and one another. Our faith is centered on Jesus Christ and grounded in the Word of God.

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are His revelation to humanity. Scripture is our authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

One God

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God: born of a virgin, without sin, crucified for our sins, bodily raised from the dead, ascended to the Father, and coming again.

JESUS At the Center of Our Faith

The Deity of Jesus Christ

Our Hope Is Found in Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and His personal and future return.

Matthew 1:23 • Acts 2:22 • 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 • Acts 1:9-11

Sanctification & Holy Living

We believe followers of Christ are called to lives dedicated to God and separated from evil through the transforming work and power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2 • Hebrews 12:14 • 1 Peter 1:15-16

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ and that every believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of His Church and its mission.

The Bible

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, are inspired by God and are the revelation of God to all men. They are the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21

The Trinity and Deity of Jesus Christ

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ and in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily resurrection from the dead, ascension to the right hand of God the Father, and personal and future return to the earth.

2 Corinthians 13:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22; Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

Salvation

We believe that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance of sin and faith toward God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir to God according to the hope of Eternal Life.

John 3:3; Romans 10:9-11, 13-15; Ephesians 2:8

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and Church of the first born, which are written in heaven.

Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 12:23

Water Baptism

We believe that baptism, by immersion in water, is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe in Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life.

This ordinance should be administered in the name of the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4

Sanctification

We believe in sanctification from that which is evil, and dedication to God. Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Romans 6:1; Romans 8:1-2, 13; Galatians 2:20

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe that all Christians are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. This gift from God endows the believer with power for life and service and the bestowment of gifts for the work of ministry.

The Baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives them utterance.

Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 1 Corinthians 1:31; Acts 2:4

A Holy Life

We believe the Scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to receive the command, "Be ye Holy for I am Holy."

Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16

Divine Healing

We believe divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16

Heaven

We, according to His promise, look for a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

2 Peter 3:13; John 14:1-3

Hell

We believe there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, will be consigned to everlasting punishment.

Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20

Justification

We believe justification is a judicial act of God whereby He justly declares righteous the individual who believes in Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

The Lord's Supper

We believe the Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined on all believers until He comes.

2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26

The Blessed Hope

We believe in the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord. This is the blessed hope of the Church.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 8:22-23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Marriage and Family

We believe in the sanctity of marriage and the sanctity of life. We believe that marriage is a sacrament only to be entered into between a man and a woman. We believe human life to be precious, beginning at conception.
